The Adaptive Sports Foundation’s annual Warriors in Motion Learn to Ski & Ride event is typically visited by dignitaries from around New York and this year was no different. Veterans and their families were greeted by the Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York Kathy Hochul as the event kicked off on Friday morning. The Lieutenant Governor took to the slopes to see the action up close. She joined everyone for lunch and welcomed the participants to Windham and to New York. Lieutenant Governor Hochul was very moved by the power of the Warriors in Motion program and posted this on her Facebook page later on in the day:
“During my time serving in Congress on the Armed Services Committee, I saw first-hand the commitment and selflessness of our service members – and today I was completely inspired by the amazing veterans, their families and staff members I met at the Adaptive Sports Foundation Warriors in Motion Learn to Ski Event at Windham Mountain Resort! We can’t thank our veterans enough for their contributions to preserving the freedoms we all enjoy.”
U.S. Congressman John Faso from the 19th District paid a call to the event Saturday during the family lunch at the Adaptive Sports Center. He spent time with the veterans and their families and then gave a brief speech. Congressman Faso expressed his appreciation for the Warriors in Motion program and how we are helping veterans fight their physical and mental battles here at home and he thanked the warriors for their service to the country.
